Viverone lake

Lake Viverone, located in eastern Piedmont, is a splendid natural oasis that offers a variety of recreational activities and breathtaking views. This lake, the third largest in the region, is surrounded by rolling hills and vineyards, creating an enchanting and relaxing landscape. In addition to its natural beauty, Lake Viverone is famous for its ancient pile-dwellings, dating back to the Bronze Age, which are part of the UNESCO site of the “Prehistoric pile-dwelling sites of the Alpine arc”. These archaeological remains offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the area’s first inhabitants.

Visitors to the lake can enjoy numerous activities, including swimming, boating, fishing and walking along the shores. The lakefront is dotted with restaurants and cafes where you can taste typical Piedmontese dishes and local wines. For history and archeology enthusiasts, the Viverone Pile Dwelling Museum offers interesting exhibitions on the finds found in the area. Lake Viverone is an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation, adventure and a dive into ancient history.
